At GTM Auditor, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with our Google Sheets add-on.

1. What Data We Access

GTM Auditor accesses data only when you authorize it via your Google Account. This includes:

      • Google Tag Manager container details (Tags, Triggers, Variables)

      • Your active Google Sheet (where data is displayed)

    We do not collect, store, or transmit your data to any external servers. All actions happen within your Google environment.

    2. Why We Access It

    We access your GTM data solely for the purpose of providing the features of the GTM Auditor add-on:

        • Fetching GTM container structure

        • Exporting data to your active spreadsheet

        • Generating optional audit summaries in Google Docs

      3. No Data Storage

      We do not store any data on our servers. Your data stays within your Google Workspace (Sheets, Tag Manager, Docs).

      4. Permissions and OAuth Scopes

      The add-on uses Google OAuth to access your data securely. The permissions requested are:

          • View and manage Google Tag Manager accounts (read-only)

          • View and edit your spreadsheets

          • Display add-on UI in Google Sheets

          • Create Google Docs on your behalf (for audit exports)

        You can revoke access at any time in your Google account settings:

        5. Cookies and Analytics

        This add-on does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. Your usage is never tracked.

        6. Data Protection Disclosure

        We use Google’s secure OAuth 2.0 system to authenticate users and access their data. We do not store, share, or sell any data retrieved by GTM Auditor. All data is used solely to display GTM configuration in the user’s active Google Sheets or export it to a user-selected Google Doc.

        Data Retention & Deletion
        GTM Auditor does not store any user data. All data accessed by GTM Auditor is kept within the user’s active Google Sheets or Docs and is deleted when the user deletes these files. No data is stored on external servers.
